Apply Credit Card Cimb – I’m asking this because I’m a bit frustrated with CIMB credit card online, customer service can’t help, and there’s not much information online.
To apply for a credit card at CIMB Clicks, you login > go to “Register & Invest” > Find Credit Card and click “Apply”

Once done, it will go to the submit page and as a final step, ask you to submit your supporting documents. This is what confuses me… the system doesn’t tell you if the process is complete after you add your files and click upload.

The first time I tried, I didn’t know where to click after uploading my file and it just quit.
Then I received a message the next day saying that my application was incomplete, asking me to go back to CIMB Clicks to complete it. This guide is stupid because if you follow it, clicking apply for credit card again will automatically take you to a page that says
“Thank you for your interest in applying for the CIMB Bank Credit Card. We apologize that we are unable to process your request at this time. You can register for a Lazada Account. Thank you.”
I called customer service and they told me it was working just waiting for approval. Okay, great, maybe it’s okay…

A day later, I checked through CIMB’s Credit Card Status Checker and it showed that the application was cancelled. (What?!
So I tried to make a second application, follow the same process and call the customer. They say that the first one has been stopped by the system (something wrong). My application is now good, please wait for approval.. same as previous application.
Here’s what I did this time, can’t guarantee it will work for you but it worked for me although I’m still confused about the whole process:
(After 2nd application) Back in CIMB Click > Register & Invest > Application Process > Credit Card / CashLite Application Status

You will see your application number and status. Note that the first one has been deleted that shows “NA” in the list. The second one has an icon, the application status shows “created”. Click on the reference number. your application.
After clicking on the reference number, you will see the following page… there is no file attachment… even though I have attached the support file at the time of application.
I went ahead and added my information again. FYI, you click “add data” multiple times to add more data. Do not click upload until all files are added. After clicking upload, you will see the following screen indicating that the file has been successfully uploaded.
After re-uploading my files, I clicked on my account and returned to this reference link and the files were gone. Therefore, it is difficult to know if the file has been uploaded correctly.

I received the same SMS as the first time, saying that my application was incomplete. At this point, I gave up and planned to go to the bank in my spare time to apply for the card in person.
Received an SMS saying my application was approved. really surprised. So I expect to receive my card in a week or two because the customer has told me this before.
Received an SMS saying My Credit Card is on its way with a tracking number for Citylink. I checked on the Citylink website and it was delivered to my address this morning! So go to my mailbox to get it. Really pleased with the quick approval and prompt delivery.

Also, the interesting thing is that in CIMB Click, the application is recorded as CANCELED and “NA” in the file. So yes, not the best online credit card application system.
Well, at least I got my new credit card processed. Hope this helps those who are confused by the system.
