Colleges With Pharmacy Technician Programs
Looking for a career that combines your meticulous nature with a career in the pharmaceutical industry?
Things To Succeed In The Pharmacy Technician Program
As a Pharmacy Technician, you are a key member of the healthcare team and responsible for ensuring safe and accurate drug dispensing in patient-centered and many healthcare facilities.
The Niagara College Pharmacy Technician Program has received accreditation status from the Canadian Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Programs for a period of five years from 2022-2027.
Applications will be assessed according to the published admission requirements. An offer of admission can be made, provided there is room in the programme, if the applicant demonstrates that he/she meets the requirements. If the number of qualified candidates exceeds the available places, selection will be based on the highest final mark available in the required courses at the time of ranking. Interim exam grades are not used for ranking purposes. Testing or other additional evaluation may be required.
Students are responsible for having a Microsoft Windows 10 based desktop or laptop system that meets or exceeds the following general PC technology requirements:
Community Pharmacy Assistant
Niagara College cannot support systems other than the above specifications. Any supplied software may not work properly. Academic software for your courses (supported under Microsoft Windows 10 operating system) is downloaded and made available for remote use. If software downloads are not possible, access is also granted to external high-performance computer labs.
Technology requirements indicate no support for Chromebooks or Apple products. Can I get my schedule even if I have a Macbook or Chromebook?
For most programs, it is recommended that you have an MS Windows 10 computer (as described in the “Computer/Technology Requirements” section on this page) for an optimal experience and ease of downloading academic software. Reliability of remote connections to university computers and software cannot be guaranteed for Macbook and Chromebook users.
There are versions that work with Macbooks and Chromebooks, and most web-based apps will work too. However, some program-specific software is designed to run on Windows 10 and successful downloads of these applications cannot be guaranteed. Our Learning Management System (LMS) at Niagara College is Blackboard, and while students can access Blackboard through a web browser, there is a security layer that uses a “glue” browser for some assignments and tests. The monitored browser does not work on Macbooks or Chromebooks.

If students choose to participate without the proposed technology, they risk a compromised virtual experience.
