William S. Janna holds his BSME, MSME, and PhD from the University of Toledo, Ohio. In 1976, he entered the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Orleans and became Dean, a position he held for four years. Then, in 1987, he entered the University of Memphis as chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He also served as Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at the Herff College of Engineering. Dr. Janna is the author of three of his textbooks and teaches short courses for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
