Update, 11/16/22: The instructions below work with all Fire tablets. We found a solution to get Play Store working on Fire 7 2022 (12th Generation) tablet with Fire OS 8.3.1.3. You can find the new steps below. Warning: If you have a microSD card installed in your tablet, remove it. If you don’t, you may lose your data during the Play Store installation process. When you’re done, you can return it.
Before you begin, make sure your Fire tablet is 2014 or later. This process may not work with older Kindle Fire tablets because you need to enable “Apps from unknown sources”.
Find “Silk Browser” and then go to “Allow this resource”. This allows us to install apps outside of the Amazon app store.
With this, we can start downloading Play Store files. Four APK files are required to run the Play Store, and they are specific to your Fire tablet.

To find out which model of Amazon Fire Tablet you have, go to Settings > Device Options > About Fire Tablet. Here you will see your “Device Model” name. To see your Fire OS version, go to Settings > Select device > System update.

With all the APK files loaded on your Amazon Fire Tablet, we can install them one by one. Open the “Files” app from the home screen.
Select “Downloads” from the side menu and switch to the list view for the files. You should see the four files we just uploaded.
It is important to install these APKs in a certain order. Follow this process for each APK: Click File > Select “Continue” > Click the “Install” button. After installation, done. Do not open the Play Store yet.

With all the APKs installed, it’s time to reboot the tablet. Press and hold the Power button and select “Restart”.
If you’re using a Fire 7 2022 (12th Gen) tablet, you’ll need to manually grant permissions before using the Play Store. Tap and hold the Play Store icon and select “App info”.
Note: The steps here are only necessary if you are using a Fire 7 2022 (12th Generation) tablet. If you are using another Fire tablet, you can skip to the next section.
Select both “Phone” and “SMS” and change them to “Allow”. Now you can continue with the rest of the lesson.

After following the instructions above, open the Play Store from the home screen and sign in with your Google account.
Once signed in, you’ll have a working Google Play Store just like any other Android device. Go ahead and download YouTube, Gmail, and any other app you can’t find on the Amazon Appstore.
Warning: It is possible that future Fire OS updates may break the functionality of the Play Store. If this happens, we recommend going through the entire installation process again and checking if newer APK files are available. If all else fails, you can reset your Fire tablet and start over.
You may face some problems while trying to use Play Store immediately. Play Store and Google Play Services are automatically updated in the background, so please give it some time. This may take up to ten minutes.
