And all this without extra subnets on my LAN, VLANs or extra WiFi or Ethernet-adapters. This may not sound like a bright idea to everyone, but it works for me and I want to sign up to save time if I have to set it up again. This is not a step-by-step tutorial, but should give you enough pointers to get you started.
I have a fritz!box router at 192.168.178.1/24. It works as an Ethernet router and WiFi router. All traffic from my LAN to the Internet is routed through this router. Since I want to use static IP addresses, I limited the DHCP IP range to 192.168.178.10 – 192.168.178.99 to avoid conflicts. I assigned 192.168.178.2 to the Odroid-C1, which acts as a second gateway on the LAN and tunnels all the main gateways to the remote VPN server on the main router. I am assigning more than 100 static IPs to my LAN-clients so that I can use the transparent VPN gateway at 192.168.178.2.
